    Based on the exhibition “TRADING STYLE”, six designers develop new limited editions that are presented and sold at the Weltkulturen Museum. The Berlin label “New Tendency” creates an exclusive edition of bags, which the designers present this evening.  

    New Tendency formerly known as MY BAUHAUS IS BETTER THAN YOURS is an interdisciplinary company devoted to conceptual furniture, fashion and graphic design. It evolved from a group exhibition in 2009 and has shown its work in Beirut, Berlin, Leipzig, Milan, Munich, Weil am Rhein and Weimar.

    Further editions include productions by Saskia Diez and uslu airlines.

    In “The World in a Nutshell”, artist David Weber-Krebs (Belgium/Germany, b. 1974) presents his work with scientific archives and libraries, and discusses his recent artistic research at the Weltkulturen Museum. Together with dramaturgical adviser Jan-Philipp Possmann (Mannheim) and Dr. Clémentine Deliss (Director of the Weltkulturen Museum), he discusses the different ways in which worlds are imagined, classified, compressed and stored. David Weber-Krebs’ work crosses the boundaries of performance, conceptual art, and literature. His work in the Weltkulturen Labor will be presented in the forthcoming exhibition “Ware und Wissen – Handelsgeografie und Völkerkunde” opening at the Weltkulturen Museum in 2014.

    Works by David Weber-Krebs have been performed and exhibited at de Appel, Amsterdam; Kaaitheatre Brussels; Sophiensaele Berlin; Mousonturm, Frankfurt. He is a tutor at the Dutch Art Institute and the Amsterdam School of the Arts.
