Δ CURATOR’S GUIDED TOUR “A LABOUR OF LOVE”

With Yvette Mutumba (co-curator of the exhibition and curator Africa, Weltkulturen Museum)

Yvette Mutumba offers an insight into the origins of the exhibition and the significance of the museum’s collection of contemporary South African art acquired in 1986. In this process, she explores new readings and interpretations of the works to cast a more differentiated light on their historical contexts. By questioning and critiquing a purely political localisation, she opens up new perspectives to show their relevance both to art history and to human experience.
