Δ FILM PRESENTATION WITH DISCUSSIONThe Weltkulturen Museum presents on two evenings three films about the Afro-Brazilian religion Candomblé, which has its roots in West Africa. In 2008, Dr. Mona travelled to Brazil on behalf of the Museum and produced two documentary films in collaboration with Brazilian partners including Dr. Jane de Hohenstein, Danillo Barata, Doté Amilton Costa and Mãe de Santo Tânia.

In interviews, priests and followers offer an insight into the world of the Candomblé religion. The film explores the elaborate Candomblé ritual practices at two cult sites in Salvador da Bahia to illustrate how everyday and religious life are intertwined.
Followed by a discussion with Dr. Mona Suhrbier.
