with Alex Novačesković (cultural mediator)
Sounds determine our everyday lives and can be heard all around us, even in what seem to be the quietest moments. Every single place has its own soundscape, shaped by our immediate surroundings, by animals and people, by their actions and interactions. How does the setting affect the perception of what we hear? How do the environment, sound, people and music relate to each other?
Alex Novačesković takes visitors on a tour around the exhibition and enter into a dialogue with contemporary music and encourage visitors to reflect upon the significance of sounds in their own lifeworld.

Sunday, 25 August 12 and 3 pm, with Iris LoewCultural mediators will guide you through the exhibition "Klangquellen. Everything is Music!", which can only be seen until 1 September. Sounds determine our everyday lives and can be heard all around us, even in the supposedly quietest moments. Every place has its own soundscape or soundscape, characterised by the local environment, animals and people, their activities and interactions. What influence does our environment have on our auditory perception? What is the relationship between the environment, sound, people and music? The focus is on sounds, their cultural use, interpretation and meanings. ‘Sound Sources’ questions the Western concept of music and allows objects from the collection to enter into a dialogue with contemporary music.
The "Sources of Sound" exhibition is open until 8 pm on all three days of the Museumsuferfest.
Free admission to all participating museums with the Museumsuferfest button. Available for 7 euros at the ticket office of the Weltkulturen Museum. Children up to six years free. World Cultures Museum, Schaumainkai 29
